I take your privacy seriously. This page explains how I use any personal data I collect from you.

What type of information I have
I act as data controller for the information you supply to me. This can include:

Health information, to help me teach mindfulness more effectively.

Other information to help me do my work, such as biographical information, training needs, feedback, and email or text communications.

How I get the information, and why I have it
You directly provide me with almost all the data I collect, either by email or by using online forms. You usually consent to the data being held by me, and if that’s the case, you can withdraw your consent by emailing me at steve@stevewaremindfulness.com

I also have a legitimate interest in collecting your data, so that I can:

Teach mindfulness effectively and ethically, including the resolution of any issues that may arise with people I teach

Provide other services to you effectively

What I do with the information
I use the information for the purposes listed above.

I do not disclose information to anyone else, except when it is necessary to do so for unavoidable reasons (for example: to obtain professional supervision, for the resolution of issues and disputes, or to work with you and other collaborators on a project or course).

When I collect information specifically as part of my work with other organisations, I may share information with them if that is necessary.

How I store your information
I securely store your data on my own devices but not in Apple’s iCloud.
I will keep your data for up to 7 years. Once this time period has expired, I will delete your data by conducting an annual purge of expired data.

Your data protection rights
Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data. I may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that I correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that I complete information that you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that I erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that I restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to my processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability – You have the right to request that I transfer the data that I have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
